How I approach what I share

I care about the quality of the question as much as the appeal of the answer.

I distinguish my personal experience from research findings, link to useful sources, and explain where the evidence is limited. When information changes or I find an error, I update the work.

Recommendations reflect the use, evidence, and practical details relevant to the decision. I disclose paid partnerships, affiliate relationships, gifted products, and my own businesses where they are relevant.

This site shares education and personal experience. It does not provide individual medical assessment or treatment.

In practice

  • Experience vs. evidence. When I say something worked for me, that's a story about one person. When I cite research, I name the study type and say whether it's an association, a small trial, or animal or lab work.
  • Sources at the end of each piece. Articles list the studies and official references I relied on. If a claim can't be sourced, it's written as my opinion or removed.
  • Hedged language on purpose. "Linked to" and "associated with" are not filler. They mark the difference between what's been shown and what's been assumed.
  • Corrections are kept visible. Updated articles carry an updated date, and material corrections are noted in the text rather than quietly replaced.
  • No fear-based ingredient language. I critique categories and chemistry, not companies, and I don't call foods or ingredients "toxic" without evidence at realistic exposures.
  • Reviewers are named only when real. I identify a clinical or specialist reviewer only when a qualified person actually reviewed the piece and agreed to be named.

Disclosures

  • I'm the founder of AMINATIDE, a luxury peptide-based skincare house. When I write about skin or peptides, that relationship is relevant and I'll say so in the piece.
  • I sell a paid guide, Understanding Food Quality, through Payhip, and offer a free one, How to Outsmart Food Marketing. Mentions of either on this site are mentions of my own products.
  • I have one affiliate relationship: Viome (at-home microbiome testing). The link on the Guides & Resources page is a referral link; I earn a commission on purchases and readers get a discount with my code. It's marked as an affiliate link everywhere it appears, and it doesn't influence what I write about gut health or testing. Any future partnership, gifted product, or paid placement will be disclosed the same way, in the content where it appears, not only here.
  • Gifted products, if I ever write about one, will be identified as gifted.

Scope

My training is in health coaching (IIN), holistic nutrition (AFPA), and Pilates instruction (ISSA). I am not a physician, registered dietitian, or licensed clinician, and nothing here is a substitute for individual care. If you're managing a condition, taking medication, or pregnant, please talk to a qualified clinician before changing what you eat, how you train, or what you take.
